1) Empty and remodel house (begun 7/17, completed 12/18)
2) Put house up for sale (completed 10/18)
3) Sell house
4) Move to Georgia (completed 1/19)
5) Build a small house in GA
6) Buy a boat
7) Refit boat for bluewater cruising and. set sail
Tempus fugit. Time flies. But doesn't it though? Just two short years ago, in July of 2017, Alex and I looked at each other and said,
"Move?"
"Yep."
"South?"
"For sure."
"Then to sea?"
"Yep."
Or something close to that. We have now taken three major steps on a seven-step list--at the end of which, we set sail.
Of the remaining steps, selling the house is just going to happen- -our work there is done. Building a house here in Georgia is constricted along budgetary lines, so it is slow, but happening. (Patience, we've learned, pays for itself.) Buying the boat depends on selling the house and finding the right boat.
We plan to have to do a ten year overhaul on a used boat, and of course we can't time that until it happens. And Then? It's "keels, not wheels!" for the Evans family.
